Bullying!!

Postby oldtimer1945 » Sun Feb 28, 2010 2:17 pm

I am a fan of E and B have been for over 20 years I was at the Welling game yesterday
an E and B fan approached me to tell me how upset he was at the plight of the club at the moment.
He told me about this forum and that I should read it, I have to say I am amazed that the manager
is allowed to write what I can only describe as bullying tactics towards other users who dont share
his opinion. Surely this cannot be right I have now looked through other clubs forums to see if a similar thing occurs
it doesnt. I will be approaching our chairman and directors with this.

You're damned if you damned if you don't.

It's better than it was 2 or 3 seasons ago when nothing ever came out of the club, apart from one notable director.

The supporters on here are pretty thick skinned so I can't see any of them making a complaint or popping to see their GP for some medication. If anything Radders is digging his own grave with some ridiculous denials and/or statements, what he needs to be aware is that Kent Football has a very small circle of people involved so eveyone knows his business whether he acknowledges this or not.

Skippy I agree that having a manager post occassionally with constructive info
is acceptable especially if the club have sanctioned it but to say things like
come and see me at the game is not acceptable. It shows how unprofessional
he is and reflects badly on the club.

I agree with all thats been said (Skippy this is a first!!!) sadly Radders is losing the fans as well as dressing room if he continues in this manner....I also think that he is under the impression that we are just supporters!!! He will find that we have been supporters for along time and moved on within football doing on the field or off the field, some to higher levels than that he is at now....

I would however NOT call it bullying....more of a passionate defence........I would be happy to meet him lol........

Bullying??????dont make me laugh.

i would prefer if the people who post on this forum ,would approach me after games rather than going home and doing it over a computer.[this is not bullying].Everyone is entitled to an opinion.especially paying customers.

i know the supporters who care about this club and i frequently have conversations with them at the games.

i also know there are plenty of people who jump on the band wagon who dont care, but just want to stir.
how many people who post on this forum actually come to the games, not many.thats what bothers me.

I dont ask people to comfront me to have fisty cuffs ,i just wish these few forum members approach me at games and we can anwser any questions or issues they have.surely thats the way forward in any walk of life.
if i didnt care, i wouldnt even bother replying.maybe thats my down fall.

I hate to say it but there you go again.
I was under the assumption a "fans forum" was for the fans to express their opinions.
If I choose to say that 4 4 2 is not the way forward the last thing I want is the manager
telling me im incorrect and to see him to discuss it. I think if managers notes were introduced
and sanctioned by the chairman or directors thats a positive.
Mr Radbourne when you decide to be a manager or a player you have to take the criticism with
the praise, you need to be more mature about this and if it offends you dont read it.

Interesting threads on here recently.

With regards our current form, I think we'd all agree we've reached a low point - very similar to some of the dross we witnessed in the second half of last season. Who takes responsibility depends on whether you believe players should take responsibility for their own performances, whether management who put the team out should take responsibility for the players, or whether the board who hire the management should take responsibility for the management! I see a degree of shared responsibilty in our case - but the buck will probably stop with the management - good luck to all involved in turning us round.

Personally, I'd risk another squad re-build and restructure things. Aim to create a stable pool of players to be used across the 1st and 2nd teams - do this by encouraging management to concentrate on coaching and man-management, getting the best out of existing players - and less time wheeling and dealing! Reduce the playing budget to no more than expenses and, maybe, some win bonuses. Not just until the end of the season but for the foreseeable future. Anyway, I've said all this a hundred times on here before, so I'll leave this point there!

As for the bullying thing, I don't see it myself, though Oldtimer I think you make some good points. If people genuinely want a question answered they'll just ask on matchdays. If people want a public debate, or want to have a pop at people in front of a wider audience, or if they are on the wind up, they'll post on here.

Aside from all the bitching going on, I would like to say it's good that Mike Golding has returned (should never have left) and also that some reserve team players are getting some first team exposure. :D

No worries about bullying and definately good to have a manger posting on here. Maybe shouldnt respond to some of the postings which seem to be put on here to wind him up though.

Rightidere I reckon you are wrong on one point, most people who post on here go to most games, from my own point of view, last few matches have been so poor that it hasnt taken much to persuade me that there are better options for a tuesday night/ Saturday afternoon. And this after supporting the Deres for 40 years through thin and thinner and missing few games in all that time.

I have too say that I dont believe the manager / coach have got it all wrong. Probably just in man management/ no of players.

Strong insinuating words Mr Manager...............you dont know who we are? I certainly pay when I go as do most on here. I notice a few new names on here and yes its probably cause you are biting. I would suggest you speak to born again if you want answers. Give straight answers and dont bite......dont hide behind excuses.....respect will then follow.....as mentioned before I dont feel you are bullying....but hey ho

Rightidere I think my advice would be simply not to bite and certainly don't SHOUT a reply. What is really appreciated by all is your willingness to keep us supporters informed.

As regards contributors to this forum a couple of new names have recently appeared but I know most of the others. There are some who do not have the best interests of the club at heart who will use other forums to have a pop and I assume that they are likely to be people who have left the club with some sort of a grudge. I believe that most of those who use this forum genuinely want to see the club do well and probably like me get a little frustrated when things go wrong. Certainly this season has not been all bad, it has just become rather disappointing when after getting so close to maybe achieving our goal we suddenly find ourselves in a "season over" situation with talk of building for next season. So I would like to move onto what we feel we need to build for next season.

Are we trying to build a team that sets out to play football in which case we need a settled side of skilful players, or are we trying to build a side that is just difficult to beat?

It will be interesting and you never know even helpful to here views from others on how they think we can win promotion out of this awful league.

I agree with Born, but I'd go further, pay nothing!!

By all means make life comfortable for players and you have most pieces of jigsaw in place, best ground, one of the best coaches around in Matt so if you can offer transport to away fixtures, decent training facilities, some clothing, not to mention water and feed them after a game why would you need to pay a player?

Most players who want money arent loyal and can be disruptive, its their nature, so you immediately cut out those individuals and youre half way there. You need a settled side to be successful as well as leaders don't be afraid to be different from the others and save your money for the Ryman league!!

well to be fair Radbourne may have been on a scouting mission, sometimes its more important for the manager of a club to go a watch other teams play , rather than his own regular players who he has has and seen play all season, he wouldnt need to see what his regulars can do if he knows them and hasnt signed any players for a day or two,
