Deal 2 Deres 1

The main headline from today is that Deal Town definitely serve the best burger and chips in the Kent League. Only £2.50 as well, real bargain. Just what you need after a 90 minute coach trip! Couldn't resist going back for another burger at half time. Good work by Dale and Mac!! :D

As for the match, fair play to Deal, they were stronger than us and deserved the win. We hit the post a few minutes before they scored the winner ... at one all with ten minutes to go it looked like either side could win it and unfortunately it turned out not to be us.

This was always going to be a tough match with 11 men but to play most of the match with only 10 we did well to hold them for as long as we did. In the end I thought we were unlucky to lose in the closing minutes and deserved a point.

I think our players need to be a lot wiser when dealing with foul play then maybe the player who commits the first offence is the guy who gets booked/sent off. On Saturday the Deal player got off without even a yellow card and we suffered a straight red for retaliation.

Ok we can have no complaints regarding the red card but I thought the Ref was rather one-sided to say the least. For the slightest offence he would award a free kick against us but when Deal did the same it generally went unpunished.

I must remember not to set my sat nav to shortest route as the narrow roads in the middle of nowhere that I came in on were twice as bad going back in the dark and fog. I think Bill was getting rather worried as the fog got worse and we had no idea where we were.
