Star striker joins from Bromley
Erith & Belvedere can today announce the season long loan signing of striker Marcus Cassius from Blue Square Bet South club Bromley FC.
Marcus moved to Bromley in the summer of 2009 after scoring 45 goals for Erith Town, collecting the Kent Football League’s Golden Boot Award along the way.
His time at Hayes Lane has been spent mostly on the substitute’s bench though and last season he spent a month on loan at Cray Wanderers.
Marcus made just four starts for Bromley last season and came off the bench a remarkable 24 times but could only muster two goals in that time.
Manager Micky Collins, who worked with Marcus during his Golden Boot period at Erith Town, is absolutely delighted to have secured the services of the young striker for the Deres.
“I know just what a fantastic goalscorer, player and person Marcus is,” said Collins.
“I’m sure he will do fantastically well for us at this level and I’m looking forward to seeing him in action against Maidstone United tomorrow.”
