The Football Association have today released the draws for the early rounds its competitions
The release of the draws of the FA Cup and FA Youth Cup, sponsored by E.ON, and the FA Carlsberg Vase is always an exciting time for non-league clubs and this year is no exception.
In the FA Cup, the Deres begin their long Road to Wembley on Saturday 14 August 2010 with an Extra Preliminary Round tie at our Kent League rivals, Holmesdale.
The winners of this tie will then face a Preliminary Round tie at Zamaretto League Division One South & West, Gosport Borough on Saturday 28 August.
The winners of this tie will again have to travel, this time on Saturday 11 September to either Lingfield or Sevenoaks Town or Corinthian Casuals.
Meanwhile, in the FA Carlsberg Vase, the Deres will be looking to erase the memory of last season’s exit at the 2nd Round Proper stage, losing by five goals to one at Witney United. However, this followed good wins over Sidley United, Horley and Pagham.
Having been handed a bye in the First Round Qualifying, this season’s campaign begins on Saturday 18 September with Second Round Qualifying tie with a home tie against Saltdean United of the Sussex County League Division Three.
However, with Welling United scheduled to be at home to Woking in the Blue Square Bet South, this tie will be moved to either Friday 17 September or Sunday 19 September.
The winners of this tie will be at home to Sussex County League Division One side Chichester City. This match is scheduled for Saturday 2 October 2010.

In the FA Youth Cup, Wayne Baldachinoo’s young Deres can look forward to a Preliminary Round tie away to Dartford. Match to be played during week commencing Monday 6 September 2010.
The winners of this match will then have a home tie in the First Qualifying Round against Deal Town. This match scheduled for week commencing Monday 20 September.
The draw for the Second Round Qualifying would see the winners face Peacehaven & Telscombe or Hastings United at home during week commencing Monday 4 October.
